As swing traders, we have to have different strategies available to us in order to profit during all cycles of the varying market conditions. It is critical to understand risk management and how systematic risk and market conditions effect us as swing traders. The purpose of educating ourselves as traders, is to learn to master our risk and become self sufficient, profitable traders across any market conditions. Our motto at Warrior Trading is trading the strategies we teach. An important part of profitable trading is learning to track your success and failures, so that you can build and enhance your strategies. We provide a trading blotter to track the performance of all of our swing trades to both the public and our members.

Intro to our Swing Trading Strategies

This video will give you a brief overview of the swing trading strategies that we use. We like to focus on strong stocks with a catalyst and technical setup that is appropriate for the trade. We also like to find trades that have rapidly moved from one extreme to the other. We have found that statistically, these trades provide the best opportunities for profiting quickly, while still managing risk.

Swing Trading Strategies: Breakout with a Catalyst

The breakout with a Catalyst strategy is one of our favorite swing trading strategies. It focuses on small and mid cap stocks that are trading in a strong technical pattern, under major resistance or just below a key breakout spot. We use proprietary Trade Ideas scanners to alert us to these setups. A requirement of taking these trades is locating and validating a strong catalyst that will help give us a high relative volume push through that critical resistance level and a subsequent breakout from which we can profit from.

Swing Trading Strategies: Gap Fill Strategy using Options

The options gap fill strategy is one of our favorite for managing risk in volatile market conditions. These trades are also located using our proprietary scanners. The idea behind using options is to control our risk in more volatile trade settings. Options also allow us to profit faster in these situation than using long stock. It is a win/win situation when we find the perfect setup. All of these swing trading strategies and an introduction to options are covered in our swing trading education course.
